$/1k is what one slot costs per thousand readers. It is price divided by audience, multiplied by 1,000. A $1,000 slot in a 16,000-subscriber newsletter is $62.50/1k. A $1,800 slot at 210,000 subscribers is $8.60/1k.
It is derived every time you load the page and never stored, so it cannot drift away from the price and reach printed next to it.
A blank not comparable is deliberate, and it is the most useful signal on the table. It means one of two things, and showing a number for either would mislead you.
Euro and dollar listings are ranked separately, so a €8.20 is never compared against a $11.30 as though they were the same thing. Use the currency filter to pin one. We do not convert, because we do not hold an exchange rate and would rather show you the publisher’s own currency than a guess at today’s.
$/1k is not a quality score. A $5.00/1k newsletter with 1,000,000 subscribers and a $46/1k one with 54,000 are different products at different scales, and the ratio only says what a thousand of them cost. It says nothing about open rates, click-through, or whether the audience is the one you are after.
